NeraSika Payments lets your business accept and send payments through one API.

Every payment method shares the same building blocks: authentication, callbacks and status checks.

How a payment works

Payments are asynchronous. The API accepts your request straight away, and the final result arrives later at your callback URL.

1. You request a token with your merchant ID and secret.
2. You send a payment request. NeraSika replies 202 Accepted with a transactionId and status pending.
3. The customer approves the payment. For mobile money, that’s a prompt on their phone.
4. NeraSika sends the result to the merchantCallbackURL you gave in the request.
5. You fulfil the order once the status is successful.

If a callback is delayed, you can check the status at any time.

Key ideas

• transactionId is NeraSika’s ID for a transaction. Store it: you need it to check status or reverse.
• merchantRef is your own reference. It comes back in every response and callback, so you can match results to your orders.
• Amounts are currently in Ghana cedis (GHS), with at most 2 decimal places.
• Your account settings decide which transaction types and networks you can use, and your per-transaction limits. A request outside them is rejected with 403 or 400.
